Flower Petals & Smokescreens

And the flower petals were laid out on the table,
And then the tab was served.
We looked up at the waiter, in his fire resistant vest,
And said "How can this be resolved?"

You asked to take a picture.
I asked "What in the hell for?"
You said "In case we won't remember,
What all this was for."

And then the smokescreens lumbered in and consumed the room.
It covered all sunlight and exhumed my forgotten gloom.

The smoke hid the flowers,
And everything beyond.
It didn't vanish for hours,
Then everything was gone.

I didn't see the signals of it rolling in.
When I looked down at the table I saw the picture we were in.
